Vision and Mission

Vision

The TXBHF Board has articulated its vision for the Foundation as the primary organization for receiving and distributing public and private funds targeted to address the health related challenges facing residents along the Texas border with Mexico.

The TXBHF will work to complement and expand successful efforts that achieve measurable results, so that public and private investments in health programs and processes become more efficient for recipients, providers, and funders of services.

Mission

The mission of the Texas Border Health Foundation is to improve the health of people along the Texas border with Mexico by supporting efforts of the State of Texas and other governmental and nongovernmental organizations committed to such objectives.

To achieve its mission to improve the health of all Texas-Mexico border residents, the Texas Border Health Foundation will work by focusing strategic grant-making in three critical areas. These issue areas were selected for the substantial need among border residents they represent and the potential for added value with an infusion of private sector involvement and financial support. The program areas include: (1) Public Health Leadership, (2) Children’s Health, and (3) Elimination of Health Disparities.
