Public Health Leadership
The border has too few leaders who are asked to do too much. There is a compelling need to build leadership skills and the financial resources necessary to mobilize organizations and the partnerships needed to improve public health in the Texas-Mexico border area. Regionally-based border alliances are needed to provide the basic framework to institutionalize prevention, control and treatment programs at various levels. Strategies should include support for collaborative efforts for the prevention and control of disease through community, government, public and private partnerships.
